Pre conference activities would include: Students will learn about various composers and their time period. They will be familiar with information about the time period as well as music from the time period.

Use this format:

5 min. Welcome and introductions. Each class shares their location and brief information about their school.

25 min. Each class will take turns and present their composer clues. Each class will take notes as the other presents. They will be given 3-5 minutes with muted mics to discover the mystery composer. At the end of the 5 minutes, each class will provide the name of the composer they think is their mystery composer.

5 min. Conclusion- The classes will discuss similarities and differences between the two composers.

Post-Conference discussion would include what was going on in the world at the time the composers lived and listening to additional musical selections from each composer.
